Q) Talk about the recruitment process - what other schools were you looking at, and how did you come to choosing the University of Tulsa?

My recruitment process was a little overwhelming, because I started off not knowing where I wanted to go, but when I figured out what kind of school and running community I wanted to be around, it became easier to decide what kind of school to go to.

Some of the other schools I looked at were the Academy of Art, and UCLA, but I ended up choosing Tulsa because of both the positive team atmosphere and the fact that I'd be able to study art history as well.

Q) What do you plan to study at Tulsa?

I plan to study Art History at Tulsa

Q) The first race that pops up on your MileSplit account is a 13:04 third place finish at the Landsharks Cross Country Invitational in 2013 - what do you remember about that race? (Can you talk a little about it)

What I remember about this race isn't too much, but I do remember how happy I was to finish because I was still getting used to running on trails, and I didn't like running anything over a mile.

Q) You made massive gains from your junior to senior year - what would you say attributed to such improvements?

My gains from my junior to senior year comes from taking the extra step to prevent what injuries you can, by stretching and icing after practices, and warming up before runs and workouts.

Q) You've had success in everything from the 1,600 up to the 5k, and on over the steeplechase, what would you say is your favorite event, and why?

My favorite event is the 3200m just because of how much fun it can be to race it.

Q) You've consistently run the steeplechase every year since 2015 - what got you interested in the event?

What got me interested in steeple was one year when I was watching the Olympics I saw the women's steeplechase, and thought of how fun it would be to run a race like that.

Q) On that note - what event do you see yourself focusing on at Tulsa?

I would like to focus on the 5k on the track and the 3k steeple.

Q) Could you share any goals you have for your first year at Tulsa?

My goal for my first year is to just continue my growth as a runner.

Q) What would your favorite high school moment be?

My favorite high school moment is huddling with my team and listening for the team results of state cross country 2018.
