Steamy Performances At The JeffCo League Champs

Any course record is in danger when Cole Sprout is about to race.

While that 15:49 victory for Tuohy-Gaydos was a staggering 36 seconds under the previous record, Sprout would slash another 36 seconds off...

After a fairly conservative opening mile, the Valor Christian senior went to work.

Sprout took Dakota Ridge's Connor Ohlson with him, as the two ran away from their chasers, which included Cole NashLuke Sundberg, and the Dakota Ride duo of Jacob White and Ben Morrin

Through halfway the tether that held Sprout and Ohlson together was still in tact, though it clearly stressing and about to snap. And when it did, Sprout ran free for any shadows.

Sprout cruised solo into the final minutes, and off to torching a new course record of 15:13 for the boy's 5A JeffCo title. Ohlson also dipped under the previous record - previous as in half an hour old - running 15:30, while Nash surged late to finish third in15:38. Sundberg took fourth in 15:47, while the Dakota Ridge duo of White and Morrin went 5-6, running 15:52, and 15:57.

The team race was a total domination by Dakota Ridge, who pumped five into the top nine, tallying just 29 points. Valor Christian took second with 71, while Ralston Valley was third with 81.
