Q) Talk about the recruitment process - what other schools were you looking at, and how did you come to choosing Northwest Missouri State University?

I went and visited six schools. Colorado Mesa University, University Nevada Las Vegas, Western Colorado University, Colorado State University, University Colorado-Colorado Springs, and Northwest Missouri State University.

At the beginning I was wanting to go to Mesa, I liked the campus a lot. It was also the first school I had looked at and it was in Colorado and that was big for me. But when I went to Northwest Missouri State University and saw the campus and the facilities... I knew with in the first day that I was going there.

Not only was the 300m indoor track super cool, the girls on the team seemed genuinely so nice and so were all the coaches.

Coach Masters seems to have the coaching style that my current coaches at Lutheran have and that is big for me. Over all the school just had an amazing feel to it and I could really see my self running for Northwest Missouri State and that's what I plan on doing.

Q) What do you plan to study at Northwest Missouri?

I plan on Studying Early Childhood Education.

Q) You've had success in everything from the 60 on up to 400what are you planning to focus on at Northwest Missouri

I plan on focusing on the 400 and the 200.

Q) What got you into track in the first place?

How I got in to track was my dad ran in high school and some in college, and so did my oldest sister Morgan who ran at Thunder Ridge, and West Texas A&M.

My dad had always wanted me to run too, so in 7th grade I joined the cross country team and it turned out I was pretty good. But then track season came around and my dad wanted me to do that too and middle school track isn't very serious but I wanted to do it anyway and is when I discovered the 400m. In 7th grade I ran around 63 seconds and then broke 60 seconds for the first time in 8th grade. I didn't know how good that was as a 7th grader but I do know and something I am proud of.

Q) The first MileSplit result we have on you is an 11:52 cross country 2 mile from the 2014 Dakota Ridge Cross Country Invite - what do you remember about this race?

At the Dakota Ridge Cross Country Invite I was very nervous. So I just took my dad advice to go out fast and that's what I did, and it paid off.

Q) Could you share any goals you have for the upcoming track season?

In the past every season so far my goals have always been pretty the same - run faster than the year before. I mainly focus on goals of having fun, race as hard as possible for my team and a fast time and really just enjoy all the great moments with my teammates and coaches. But this year I am hoping to break 56 in the 400m open and 25 in the 200m open.

I have run sub 56 and sub 25 a few times on relay splits last year but now I want these times in the opens.

Q) What would your favorite high school moment be (so far)?

My All-Time favorite track and field moment was winning Girls 3A state championship team title with my teammates for the first time is our school's history and having our boys team win along side us too!! I can't ask for anything better and it was an awesome way to finish last season and it felt so great to know that all of our hard work payed off.
