Where to start?

The cold, the rain, and the mud couldn't put a damper on another big weekend in Portland for Nike Cross Nationals. Colorado runners definitely made the trip worth it!

Between the Niwot girls shocking the country with a third place finish, and Colorado nabbing three top-10 team finishes (Dakota Ridge Boys - seventh, Valor Christian girls - eighth), and five All-American finishes - Connor Ohlson (5th), Cole Sprout (7th), Dylan Schubert (14th), Cruz Culpepper (20th), and Samrawit Dishon (15th), you could say it was a pretty big weekend in Portland - and that's an understatement.

Back in Colorado, and away from the cold rainy, muddy conditions of the Pacific Northwest, Sydney Holiday, and Gavin Schurr exploded out of the blocks and into the 2019-20 indoor season. 

Holiday doubled this week, running just off her personal best with a 7.66 60 clocking at Mines Wednesday night, before trouncing that two days later at the CSU Alumni Classic, where she dropped a 7.55 - that's currently the second fastest 60 in the country right now. 

Likewise, Gavin Schurr ran 6.90 in the event, which is also the No.2  time in the country on the boy's side. 

And speaking of exploding, Riley Masten hinted that she's got a big next weeks months ahead of her. The Rock Canyon senior jumped 5-7 for a nation-leading mark, and it's just one inch shy of her outdoor PR.
