Horn 2nd, Recce & Cohen 3rd In Millrose Pole Vault

The Millrose Games ramps up with action on Saturday, but Thursday kicked off the meet at the Armory in NYC with the girls pole vault and Pennsylvania's best had a strong showing.

Manheim Township's Sydney Horn placed second to New York's Leah Pasqualetti, the current US No. 1. Pasqualetti cleared 13-7.25 for the win, while Horn earned the silver with a jump of 13-5.25, just off her season best and PR of 13-6. Horn is currently PA No. 1 and US No. 3.

A pair of PA vaulters -- Central Dauphin's Gabriella Recce and Germantown Academy's Liliana Cohen -- tied for third. Both girls cleared 12-9.5. For Cohen, that's just off her season best and PA No. 2 of 12-10. Recce, meanwhile, betters her own PR and PA No. 3 by a half inch.

Western Wayne's Trina Barcarola was sixth (12-5.5) to improve on her own PA No. 6. Wilson Area's Sara Altonen took tenth, clearing 11-11.75 (PA No. 9) and Carlisle's Rileigh Cardin was 12th with a jump of 10-11.75.
