At the IHSAA Cross Country State Championship, Karina James won her first state title after placing fourth the season prior. The Lowell (IN) High School junior received tough competition from Fort Wayne Carroll's (IN) Zoe Duffuswho finished just two seconds behind her.

James almost ran her first sub 18 minutes for 5K at the championships when she clocked an 18:00.10 and earned a 140 speed rating. Out of almost 3,200 votes last week, James earned about 64-percent of the votes, winning the Week 11 of the National Performer of the Week honor.

She finished the week with a total of 1,980 votes. A big congrats goes out to James on the recognition.
