The Class of 2016 Continued to Flourish At Worlds

'The Class of 2016: Noah Lyles'

---

Over the last two years, the Class of 2016 has started to solidify itself as one of the best classes ever.

At the Tokyo Olympics a year ago, several athletes from the high school graduating year won important medals, including gold for Michael Norman in the 4x400m, silver for Chris Nilsen (pole vault) and Grant Holloway (110mH) and bronze for Noah Lyles in the 200m. A few more, like Bryce Hoppel, Vashti Cunningham and Anna Cockrell, qualified for the Olympic Games.

The group's encore in 2022?

It only continued at the World Championships: Lyles (200m), Norman (400m, 4x400m) and Holloway (110mH) each captured gold in their respective events, while Nilsen (pole vault) and Lyles (4x100) added silver in additional events.

Lyles, in fact, won his second straight World Championship for 200m.

A year ago, MileSplit produced nine short break-out films on a selection of the class's top athletes. Check out those videos in the links below.
