Colorado 2A Region 1: Tyler Ball And Quin Gregg Sweep

Quin Gregg, no stranger to this course, or the moment, timed this one to perfection.

The Lyons senior, who twice finished second at this meet, and once fifth, paced her way through the opening miles.

Gregg and Ainsley Stanton ran in tandem through much of the race before the veteran Gregg gradually ramped up the pace into the final mile.

The Lyons senior took her final victory lap over her home course, as she telescoped away with the 2A Region 1 title, running 20:26 - her second consecutive victory.

Stanton was a clear runner-up finishing 14-seconds back in 20:42.

And the clock ticked on.

Faith Ramsey kicked to a third-place finish, running 21:37, while Ella Bullock finished fourth in 21:44, which was four-seconds ahead of Juliana Lundy's 21:48.

Lake County and Heritage Christian took the team race down to single digits - only three points separated them. At the final tally it was Lake County who claimed the 2A Region 1 title, tallying 38 points to Heritage Christian's 41. Lyons took third with 51, Clear Creek was fourth with 69, and Yuma took the fifth and final qualifying spot with 94 - four points ahead of Dawson's 98.
