Colorado Girls Performer of the Week (April 14-19)

Kiana Cumings took the victory for the performer of the week though it was a close one. Here are the nominations for this week and make sure to get your votes in by Friday, April 25th at Midnight!

Jade West, Niwot High SchoolShe just keeps getting better and better in an event she is already so strong in. West threw 47-4 in the shot put this past weekend, improving her lead on the rest of the state by over 7 feet. This new mark puts West into the top 10 in the whole nation as well.

Kaeli Powe, Cherokee Trail High School: Though this was Powe's only second hurdle race of the season, she ran a huge PR of 14.33, improving from her time of 14.54 she ran earlier this year. Though the 100m hurdles is very competitive this season, Powe moved up to #3 in the state.

Kinley Wolfe, Cherry Creek High SchoolCherry Creek High School decided to take their team out east to the Kansas Relays, where Kinley Wolfe ran a nice time of 4:51 in the 1600m. This is only a week later from when she ran her previous PR of 4:56 for 2nd place at the Pomona Invitational. She also ran 2:13 in the 800m, another PR for Wolfe.

Emmaliegh Malcolm, Ralston Valley High SchoolMalcolm has been incredibly consistent this season, jumping 18-3 in the long jump this past week. She is currently ranked 3rd overall in all of Colorado from an earlier season jump of 18-10.5, but again, we cannot ignore consistency and this was still a great jump from her.
