Kiana Cumings took the victory for the performer of the week though it was a close one. Here are the nominations for this week and make sure to get your votes in by Friday, April 25th at Midnight!
Jade West, Niwot High School: She just keeps getting better and better in an event she is already so strong in. West threw 47-4 in the shot put this past weekend, improving her lead on the rest of the state by over 7 feet. This new mark puts West into the top 10 in the whole nation as well.
Kaeli Powe, Cherokee Trail High School: Though this was Powe's only second hurdle race of the season, she ran a huge PR of 14.33, improving from her time of 14.54 she ran earlier this year. Though the 100m hurdles is very competitive this season, Powe moved up to #3 in the state.
Kinley Wolfe, Cherry Creek High School: Cherry Creek High School decided to take their team out east to the Kansas Relays, where Kinley Wolfe ran a nice time of 4:51 in the 1600m. This is only a week later from when she ran her previous PR of 4:56 for 2nd place at the Pomona Invitational. She also ran 2:13 in the 800m, another PR for Wolfe.
Emmaliegh Malcolm, Ralston Valley High School: Malcolm has been incredibly consistent this season, jumping 18-3 in the long jump this past week. She is currently ranked 3rd overall in all of Colorado from an earlier season jump of 18-10.5, but again, we cannot ignore consistency and this was still a great jump from her.
