Coaches: Adding Athletes to Your Roster

Many, if not most, of you will be doing online entry for meet registration at some point this year. You will need to add any new athletes to your team roster. Here's how you do that.

1. Log in with the system when you bring up Colorado Track XC. If you aren't registered yet, register with the system.

2. Go to your team page (Teams/List of Schools/select your school) and enter team administration mode by clicking on the black bar in your team banner. If you have not already registered as a team admin, you will need to do this before you can enter team administration. I have to approve team admins and I check on the every morning and every evening. Please don't wait to register as a team admin until the night before your meet entries are due!

3. Once in Team Admin mode, click on the the Roster link on the left-hand side of your team page.

4. On the roster page, click on the Add Athlete button and fill in the information about the athlete. It is very helpful if you include the year of graduation. It is also very helpful if you spell the name correctly, Click on Add New Athlete when complete. Repeat for as many athletes as you need to add.

5. While you're in your team roster, you can move any athletes you desire to inactive status or to track and field (or cross country) only status. The advantage of doing this is that by trimming your track and field roster to only those athletes currently active on your track and field team, you will have a shorter list of athletes to select from (and therefore less scrolling up and down on the screen to do) when entering athletes for a meet.

You will need to add any athletes who are incoming freshmen and did not run cross country. Those who ran cross country should already be in the system, assuming we got results for them at some point during the season. Also, athletes will be automatically added to your roster from any meets from which we get results during the season. If an athlete shows in those results, he/she will be added to the team to which the results have that individual assigned. If, however, your first meet is a meet for which you will be doing online registration through Colorado Track XC, you will need to add the new athletes yourself.
