As we prep for the Brooks XC Championship, Colorado has had a long history of finalists qualify for the championship meet. With only 40 runners making it into the championship meet, Colorado has had a total of 44 boys and 47 girls qualify from 1981 to 2024.
Adam Goucher of Doherty High School won the title in 1993 with one of the fastest times on the course of 14:41! He also qualified for the championship three times in a row. On the girls' side, Melody Fairchild of Boulder High School won two back-to-back individual titles in 1989 and 1990, and she also finished 2nd overall in 1988! The most recent champion was Katelyn Kaltenbach of Smoky Hill High School, who won in 2003.
