Kemboi, Behm Earn Cross Country Runner Of The Week Honors

Silas Kemboi of Texas Tech and Mia Behm of Texas have been awarded the Big 12 Cross Country Runner of the Week honors for the third week of the 2010 season, the Conference office announced. Both student-athletes are being recognized for the first time in their career.

Silas Kemboi, Texas Tech, Sr., Iren, Kenya
Kemboi led the Red Raiders to their first victory of the season with his second-place finish at the Texas Tech Red Raider Open. He covered the 8K course in a time of 24:20.34, nearly 30 seconds ahead of the third place finisher. Texas Tech scored a total fo 25 points in the competition to beat the field by 37 points for the victory.

Mia Behm, Texas, Jr., Tyler, Texas
Behm captured her second individual title of the season, as she led the Texas women's cross country team to the Ricardo  Romo Texas Classic team title. Despite rainy weather conditions, Behm posted a career-best 5K mark of 17:10, outrunning her previous high by 13 seconds. She helped the Longhorns tally 15 points for their second-consecutive perfect score of the 2010 season.
