Maya Hart, Akron Junior High School: At the top of the 400m and the 800m rankings for the class is Hart, who ran 1:01 for the 400m and an impressive time of 2:26 in the 800m! On top of those two marks, she has run 5:38 in the 1600m, making her #4 for the 8th graders.
Jesse Verhoogen, Altona Middle School: The fastest 8th grader in the 1600m goes to Verhoogen, who ran 5:26 for the event, which also puts her atop the rankings for all of middle school! She has also run 2:31 for the 800m, placing her at #4 in that event as well, and she has only competed at one official meet so far this season!
Teagan Gardner, Cedaredge Middle School: In terms of the track Gardener has just run the 100m hurdles, but she has consistently run under 17 seconds all season! She has the top time for 8th graders, running 16.15 for the event just edging out the rest of the competition.
Evie Labouliere, Monument Academy Middle School: Not to far behind Gardner in the 100m hurdles is Labouliere, who has run 16.17 for the event, placing her at #2 in the 8th grade rankings. Though that was a hand-timed result, she also has other times of 16.41, which still places her #2 for the class rankings.
Ariana Kaveh, Erie Middle School: Kaveh has the fastest 100m time for the 8th grade class, running 13.03 and getting so close to breaking the 13 second barrier even though she is still in middle school! She has only ran in one meet, but she also has a PR of 27.70 in the 200m.
Gracie Clark, New Vision Charter School: The 400m is very competitive in the 8th grade class, but Clark is ranked pretty well, running a time of 1:01 to put her at #2 for the class rankings! On top of her strong 400m time, she has also run 13.46 for the 100m and 27.49 in the 200m.
