Kiana Cumings, Windsor High School: Cumings returned as the champion in the 200m and the 400m once again for Class 4A! She first helped her team to a win in the 4x200m relay, where the team ran an overall time of 1:39. She then went on to run 54.64 in the 400m to win the individual title. Then she ran 23.58 in the 200m and helped her team to another win in the 4x400m relay, running 3:49!
Reagan Falletta, Pueblo East High School: Falletta hit multiple personal best times in the hurdles this weekend to win both individual titles! She ran under 14 seconds for the first time, running 13.92 to win the title! That time was also the 4th fastest time run in Colorado this year. She then ran 42.11 in the 300m hurdles for a new personal best in the preliminary round and a new #1 time for Colorado. She ran 42.34 in the finals to win that title.
Jordan Banta, Air Academy High School: Banta completed her senior year with some strong races in the distance events, finishing 2nd in both the 800m and the 1600m! Banta just barely missed the 800m title by less than a second, running 2:09.56! She then ran 4:50 in the 1600m, running close to her personal best. She also helped her team to a 2nd place finish in the 4x800m relay.
Addison Ritzenhein, Niwot High School: Ritzenhein finished her high school career out with two more individual titles and helped her team to a 4x800m relay title for her senior season! Starting with the 3200m, Ritzenhein won that title fairly easily, running a time of 10:31! She then placed 3rd overall in the 800m with a new person best time of 2:10. Finally, she ran a Class 4A state meet record in the 1600m, finishing in 4:44!
Braelyn Bailey, Roosevelt High School: Bailey hit another state meet record in the high jump, breaking her own record she set a year ago. She jumped 5-10 to win the individual title and to break the record! She also placed 2nd overall in long jump, hitting a mark of 18-2 and made finals for the 100m hurdles, with a preliminary time of 15.32.
Addyson Smith, Fossil Ridge High School: Smith came back for redemption this season after finishing 2nd in both the 100m and the 200m. This season she won both the Class 5A titles in those events and ran times of 11.60 and 23.81 to take those two victories! She also competed in the long jump this season, where she placed 4th overall with a mark of 18-0.
Payton Mathelier, Mountain Vista High School: Mathelier did extremely well in the long sprints, winning the 400m in an impressive time of 53.80! She was the only girl in Class 5A to break 54 seconds this season. In the 200m, she placed 3rd overall in a time of 24.22, which was a new personal best.
Madison Lange, Cherokee Trail High School: Lange is extremely competitive and doesn't let her age get in the way considering she is only in 9th grade. Lange ended up placing 2nd overall in the 3200m, running a time of 10:29. She then went on to place 3rd overall in the 800m, running a new personal best of 2:10! Finally, she took the victory in the 1600m, running an altitude PR of 4:52!
Amber Calender, Northfield High School: Calender was in the toughest division for the 100m hurdles with some of the fastest times run in Class 5A. However, Calender took the victory in the event, running a wind-aided time of 13.37! Then a little later in the meet, Calender lined up in the 100m and placed 6th overall, running a time of 12.10, which was a new personal best.
Renata Bergstrom, Cherry Creek High School: Bergstrom has been the top pole vaulter in Colorado all season, so she was the favorite to win the pole vault. However, Bergstrom also took the victory in another field event in the triple jump! First, in the pole vault, Bergstrom got over the bar at 12-7 to win the title. Then she jumped a wind-aided mark of 37-11.75 to take the unexpected victory in the event!
Mountain Vista High School's Sprint Relays: Mountain Vista High School won the team title for Class 5A and a big reason for that was their relays, where the team won all of the sprint relays! Starting with the 4x100m relay, they ran a time of 47.11. Then they ran 1:37.97 in the 4x200m relay, running the fastest time in Colorado this season! Finally, they ran 3:46 in the 4x400m relay for that victory as well.
Zenobia Witt, Eaglecrest High School: Witt did not compete much this spring season, but she still came out with an impressive state meet performance, highlighted by her 3rd straight title in the long jump! Witt jumped a mark of 19-3.25 and is the most consistent Colorado athlete over 19 feet in the event! Then she placed 2nd overall in the 100m hurdles, running a wind-aided time of 13.64. Finally, she placed 6th overall in the 300m hurdles running 44.68.
