RunningLane Track Championships has grown and grown in popularity on the track side with a plethora of heats in all the distance events. Colorado definitely sent its fair share of athletes to compete this past weekend in Huntsville, Alabama! Take a look at some of the girls who performed the best for the state of Colorado!
Reagan Duncan, Air Academy High School: Even though she is only a 9th grader, Duncan was the fastest girl from Colorado in the 800m running a new personal best of 2:16! She also ran another PR in the mile running 5:10 and finishing 2nd in her heat.
McKenna Groen, Regis Jesuit: Also only in 9th grade, Groen was the fastest girl from Colorado at the meet in the 3200m running a time of 10:38! She made it into the championship division and placed 13th overall. She also ran 5:00 in the full mile.
Jordan Banta, Air Academy High School: Banta was the top finisher from Colorado in the Mile Championship, placing 3rd overall and running a new personal best of 4:43! She improved upon her previous best by a few seconds with that impressive run.
Elise Hagen, Niwot High School: Hagen also made it into the championship division for the mile and ran a new PR of 4:49 for the event! She placed 9th overall in the very competitive division.
Vivian Jack, The Classical Academy: After Jack won the 800m in the Class 3A state meet, she ran 4:52 for the mile in the championship division also running a new personal best and placed 15th overall.
Scarlett Parks, Niwot High School: Parks was the only other girl from Colorado at the meet to break 11 minutes in the 3200m running 10:48! She also ran 4:59 for the mile, joining a few other girls who broke the 5 minute barrier in the event.
