Colorado Girls Cross Country Performer of the Week (Aug. 24-30)

After another week of cross country racing in Colorado, it's time to vote for the MileSplit Colorado girls cross country performer of the week.

This Week's Nominees:

Madison Lange, Cherokee Trail High School (Colorado): Broke away from a 500-runner field at the Cherry Creek Steve Lohman Invitational, taking first with a 5K clocking of 17:51.91 and a 19.9-second winning margin. That time now sits at No. 17 of 1,896 athletes in MileSplit's database at Cherry Creek State Park since 2019.

Dylan Shaklee, Golden High School (Colorado): Out of 149 finishers at the Centaurus Bernie Gay XC Invitational, the winning 5K time of 18:37.32 came with 38.5 seconds to spare over the runner-up. That effort now stands at No. 2 of 1,378 athletes in MileSplit's database at Waneka Lake Park since 2019.

Brynn Torres, Loveland High School (Colorado): The John Martin XC Invitational win came in 17:28.70 over the 5K distance, good for a 14-second margin among 204 finishers. It also marks a jump from an 18:02.00 clocking on the same course, 33.3 seconds faster this time, and lands at No. 3 of 724 athletes in MileSplit's database at Fort Collins HS XC Course since 2019.

Sydney Wattles, Moffat County High School (Colorado): A 32.1-second gap separated first from second at the D'Evelyn Dash, where the 5K was covered in 20:14.70 across a 142-runner field. That time ranks No. 66 of 1,623 athletes in MileSplit's database at D'Evelyn HS XC Course since 2019.

Annabelle Jackson, Mesa Ridge High School (Colorado): A 92-runner field at the Pueblo Central Pete Falleta Cross Country Invitational had no answer for the winning margin of 34.8 seconds posted in the 5K, crossing first in 19:07.73. That time also represents a massive leap forward from a previous 21:20.60 on the same layout, a 132.9-second improvement, and now sits at No. 3 of 640 athletes in MileSplit's database at Elmwood Short Nine Golf Course, Pueblo City Park since 2019.
