2017 In Review

Try as Rock Canyon might, they could not topple the Mountain Vista juggernaut. And with good reason. Mountain Vista would end up as #3 in the nation at Nike Cross Nationals. Not many people had much success all season long toppling Mountain Vista.

2017 did see, however, what was likely the best density of top teams we've had in a long time in 5A Boys here in Colorado. It might have been the best year ever for 5A Boys cross country. And, that should whet a lot of appetites for 2018

Looking Ahead to 2018

Every top team in the state, at least as far as 5A Boys are concerned, takes some sort of hit to graduation. For some of this year's top teams, the hit to graduation will approach the realm of catastrophic. For at least one other team, it figures to barely be noticed.

In all, it shapes up as another very competitive year, though the cast of characters might change just a little from what it was this year.

We'll take a closer look on a team-by-team basis. The first team to come under the microscope is this year's state champion--Mountain Vista. Click on Next to progress through the list of likely contending teams for next fall.
