Note: I just received an email that I'd never finished the Deep Dive series--in particular, 5A Girls. Well, I'd done 5A Girls in my head, but--it would seem--never got anything posted. This article will fix that omission.
2017 In Review
2017 was a year of domination--domination by Mountain Vista, that is. Even a team as unquestionably strong as Broomfield could not manage a dent in the Vista Nation armor. Yes, there were other good teams as well, but it's easy to lose track of that when the spotlight is so completely dominated by teams like Mountain Vista and Broomfield.
Looking Ahead to 2018
You'll want to take a look at the virtual meet scoring for returning runners, if you haven't already. That's a good place to begin.
It's very difficult to say exactly how next year's freshman class will impact all things 5A Girls, but it looks like a solid class pushing their way up next year.
