We've minutes to midnight now with the state meet just days away. It's been a long but exciting season.

The team races replicates what we saw last year, sort of.

Heading into the state championships it looks like the Heritage Christian boys are primed to defend their state title. They've got enough on the track to add up the points for another state title - they enter the meet as the favorite. A year ago Plateau Valley was 35th at state, but right now they're looking like a potential podium finisher. And right on their heals Cotopaxi could round out the top-three.

The girl's team race will come down to the wire, that's for sure. Every point and every second will play a large role in separating the top-four teams, which look really, really close. Heritage Christian could make it a sweep, as they enter as a favorite, but not by much. Look for Shining Mountain Waldorf, Holly, and DeBeque to challenge. A state champion will likely come from one of these four schools.
