More often than not, a solid pack will lead to a solid team score. While most runners are still in the process of finding their strides, we did see quite a bit of pack running this past weekend. So this begs the question: who had the best 1-5 split?
Well, we had to dive into multiple lists here, because while most teams hit the course for 3.1 miles this past weekend, we did have one big 2-mile race, so I've added that list as well.
So who 'won the weekend' with the best 1-5 split?
On the girl's side - for the 5k - it was Rocky Mountain High. They tallied a 57-second split at the Cheyenne Mountain Stampede. They were one of only two schools to dip under 60 seconds, with the other being Fossil Ridge, who had a 59-second gap.
For the 2-mile it was Palmer Ridge with a 1:01 split. Boulder was hot on their heels, however, with a 1:03 split.
