Cross Country Committee Report Approved; 2A 6/4 Scoring Proposal Goes Up in Flames

Things went more or less as expected for cross country at today's CHSAA Legislative Council meeting.

The passing of the cross country committee report means that the regional alignments contained in the report become set--with perhaps a minor tweak here and there. It also means we will see 20 teams on the starting line in each of 3A, 4A, and 5A.

The Santa Fe League proposal to change 2A scoring from 6/3 to 6/4 failed by a large margin. Proposals drawn up after the committee meeting are almost certain to fail, and this one fell comfortably within the established pattern of such proposals.

Look for a similar proposal to be made at the next cross country committee meeting in November. In the meanwhile, 2A will run six and score three at this year's state meet, with 16 teams on the start line.
