Another Round of Cancellations and Postponements Begins (Updated)

If you need to know why, check out Friday's Front Range weather forecast.

Some years, the weather is pretty nice for track season. Other years, not so much so. I'm guessing our collective judgment might be that this year belongs in the second bucket.

I'll keep updating this article to let you know what's going on with meets, their demises, and--in some cases, at least--their revivals:

  • West Grand High School has determined that it's not looking good for pole vaulting at 9000 feet right Thursday. The High Country Pole Vault meet has been officially rescheduled to Monday. Entries now close at noon on Sunday.
  • The Coronado Cougar Classic, staring down the heart of Friday's dismal weather forecast, has repositioned to Monday. It's still at Garry Berry. Entries have been reopened but you don't have a whole lot of time. They close again at midnight Thursday.
  • The Colorado Meet of Champions has now made a second decision to move everything to Monday. One-day compressed schedule still.
  • In a bit of positive news, the Grand Junction Central Warrior Invitational is welcoming Front Range teams that get canceled out of meets to their meet in Grand Junction on Saturday. Please contact Coach Mulvey at 970-433-0367 or Coach Leblow at 970-433-3689.
  • The Holy Family Tiger Tornado has been rescheduled for Tuesday, May 3
  • The Lamar and Perea Middle School meets for today are--minimally--postponed. No word on the moment about make-up dates. They might be cancelled, though I know Lamar, at least, is looking at make-up dates.
  • Strasburg and Wray have both cancelled and the meets will not be made up.
  • The Grandview Invitational has cancelled. It will not be made up.
  • The Welco Championships are cancelled and will not be made up.
  • The LoboCat has been cancelled and will not be made up.

The weekend has been cancelled and will not be made up.
