Rigsby The Talk Of The Jumps

Wind speeds will keep Gunner Rigsby out of the record books for now, but his performances in the horizontal jumps drew a crowd on Saturday. The Fruita-Monument senior blew away the competition with a long jump of 23-03.25 and triple jump of 44-05.5. Unfortunately, the wind also blew too hard to make the jumps count with +4.2 and +2.6 measurements, respectively.

Rigsby, who brought home silver in the triple jump last year while in Class 3A for Grand Valley, transferred to 5A Fruita and is consistently finishing at the top of the jumping events on the Western Slope. Unfortunately for the senior, he has been on the windy end of several runways this year, posting only one wind-legal jump in each event, according to Milesplit stats.
