Colorado 2A Region 1: Tyler Ball And Quin Gregg Sweep

Not in my house.

Tyler Ball had already shed his chasers a mile into Thursday's Colorado 2A Region 1 Championships.

The Lyons junior took purposeful strides over familiar terrain, and added to his lead as he cruised into the middle mile.

Ball would not be denied a victory on his home-course, that was for sure.

By the third mile Ball had created a comfortable gap, and he cruised on to victory, running 16:46 to claim the 2A Region 1 title - his second consecutive victory of the season.

Behind him, Jack Nauman was a clear runner-up, finishing in 17:07, while Jace Peters was a clear third-place, running 17:17. Cole Thomas gave Lyons the best 1-2 punch, finishing fourth in 17:41, though Heritage Christian went on to put their entire scoring four inside the Top-9.

Heritage Christian tallied 26 points to take the 2A Region 1 title. Lyons was second with 36, Twin Peaks Charter Academy was third with 53, Wiggins was fourth with 69, and Clear Creek took the fifth and final qualifying spot with 119 - five points ahead of Yuma's 142.
