Put a few great teams together on a Friday afternoon and what happens? You get a meet filled with a lot of state-qualifying marks and everybody heading home before 7 PM. I could get used to this. For TCA, at least, the only downside of a meet like this is the two-plus hours of travel required to get there. Loveland High School is a fair piece of highway from the north end of Colorado Springs.
 
But there were schools at this meet that came from a lot farther away than TCA. Battle Mountain and Glenwood Springs came from the far side of Vail Pass. And they came for some of the same reasons we came--great competition and a compact meet format.
