The shot put area is completed. We will host shot put at University on Saturday 3/29.
Where: University High School - 6525 W. 18th Street Greeley, CO
When: Saturday March 29, 2014. Start time 10:00 am. The pole vault will be contested on Friday March 28th at University High School, at 3:30 pm.
General Information
State Qualifying: The Bulldog Invitational is a state ranking event. This meet is sanctioned by CHSAA.
Facilities: The track consists of 8 lanes and is made of black latex rubber. The long/triple/pole vault runways as well as the high jump pad are also made of latex. All competitors shoes must use spikes of 1/8 or less. The shot put and discus pads are made from cement. Starting blocks will be provided. All other equipment will need to be supplied by the competing schools. NO locker rooms available for changing.
Pole Vault: Pole vault will be contested Friday, March 28th at University High School at 3:30. See above.
Parking: Bus parking will be located in the Middle School Parking Lot (1717 65th Ave). Universitys main parking lot will be reserved for spectators.
Camps/Warm-up: Team camps will be allowed on the grassy area on the South side of the middle school NO EXCEPTIONS. No footballs, frisbees, etc. will be allowed in the team camp area since it is near the discus area. The warm-up area for athletes will be on the North side of the football field. Athletes WILL NOT be allowed on the infield of the track and the warm-up area unless they have been called or are participating in their event.
Concessions: A concession stand will be located under the pressbox. A hospitality room will also be available to coaches and meet workers in the school.
Scoring: Eight places will be scored (10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1) in all track events, field events, and relays.
Awards: Plaques will be awarded to the 1st and 2nd place boys and the 1st and 2nd place girls teams. Medals will be awarded for first through third place in all events. Ribbons will be awarded for 4th-8th place in all events.
Entries: Each school will be allowed 3 entries per event. Unlimited entries will be allowed in the pole vault however only 3 athletes from each school may score. Athletes are limited to only four events, including relays. All running events will be contested as finals in heats against time. We will run two or three heats of the 800m, two heats of the 1600m, and 3200m run will utilize a super alley start. There will be preliminaries and finals of the field events with the top nine athletes advancing to the finals.
Coaches Meeting: We will have a coaches meeting at 9:15 in the cafeteria of the school.
Rules: All National Federation and CHSAA rules will be enforced at this meet (including uniform rule).
Entry Deadline: We will be utilizing the Milesplit (http://co.milesplit.com) website this year to process rosters and entries. The entry deadline will be at 6:00pm on March 28th. There will be no additions or substitutions at the meet. Instructions for accessing Milesplit are including at the end of this document.
Entry Fee: Entry fee is $200.00 for each school. Please pay ASAP.
