Sometime over the summer the folks at Boulder High School took a look at the course for the Pat Patten Invitational and decided that the rolling grassy hills around Viele Lake just would not do. It seems that three years earlier the state meet course was set on a course that would send athletes up a steep incline and force them to push their bodies in a way that was not readily available on most other cross country courses in the state. That set the stage for the Pat Patten to pack its bags and move to South Buffalo Ranch for this year.
