Most of you already know that MileSplit has gone to free online registration for meets. But, part of "free" is "self-serve."

So, think of this as both encouragement and a little tutorial about how to get your meet set up for online registration and placed on the Colorado Track XC calendar all in one easy process.

For most of you, it will be as simple as cloning over last year's meet. If you hosted a meet that had online registration last year and you want to keep all the registration parameters the same as last year, just follow these steps:

1. Log in to the system under your username.

2. From the main navigation bar, click on More/Online Registration.

3. This will take you to the online registration wizard. It will recognize you and the school you associate with.

4. For the most part, none of you will have upcoming meets already on the calendar, so click on Not Listed, Start New Meet. Fill in the meet information (meet name and date) for your upcoming meet, then click on Next

5. In most cases, you will already have previous editions of the meet in the MileSplit database. So, on the next page, under Meet History, click on the most recent version of the meet you want to clone over to this year.

6. The rest of the process should be intuitive.

If you had this meet last year but want to change some settings from last year, follow the first five steps above, but then make changes as needed in the subsequent steps.

If you have an entirely new meet to create for this year, you will not match any meet under Meet History, but you will fill in boxes as you go, indicating the settings you want.

If, as you complete your online registration setup, you realize you picked something wrong somewhere, you will be able to change some things on the meet admin page. Go to the meet page from the 2017 Outdoor Track and Field calendar, click on the Meet Admin button, and make changes on the meet admin page. If, however, you find no way of making the needed changes on the meet admin page, send me an email (versawa@msn.com) and I will make the needed changes for you.

Also, if you find your old meet logo becomes a broken link when the meet is copied over, you may create a new one by resizing your logo to 120 X 90 pixels, clicking on Meet Admin on your meet page, and clicking on Change Logo at the left-hand end of the banner section of your meet page. Select the file you've resized by first clicking inside the Choose File box, locate your image, and upload. It's that simple.
