
Brandon Pappas will be one of the 4A athletes to watch this spring. Watch for him especially in the 800 and 4x800.
Last year, it was Mountain View prevailing in 4A Boys. Mountain View's cupboard isn't exactly bare, but they did take a few hits to graduation. And, there is that little matter of their coach moving on up the ladder of employment.
Meanwhile, there are other teams rising in the 4A ranks. Palmer Ridge figures to be loaded again. Montrose has some exceptional high-end talent. As do Air Academy, Vista Ridge, Canon City, and Silver Creek.
What this article proposes to do then, is to provide a listing of the top 18 returners in each event. Following that, I go through a subjective preseason listing of the top five teams in the state. I'll discuss the strengths of each of those teams in an effort to demonstrate why they were selected.
Ultimately, though it's all build-up to the actual season when we start settling these things with actual meets and such.
