2017 Delta Invitational: Montrose Brings A Broom And Sweeps

More Noteworthy Performances

Paonia's Brianna Van Vleet started the outdoor season with a solid leap of 18-02.00 (0.0).  At this moment, that has Van Vleet atop the state long jump rankings. She also spent some time in the shot-put ring and, though unseeded, came away with a 5th place finish off a 32-06.75 performance.

Palisade's Zaccre Kenwood won the 200, triple jump and helped his team to 4x200 and 4x400 relay victories.

Gunnison's Colton Stice led wire to wire in both the 1600 and 3200 (10:20.07).  It took a PR for Stice to win the 1600, though, as Evan Graff was just off his shoulder every step of the way. That would wind up as one of the day's closest finishes, 4:35.37 to 4:35.59.

Gunnison scored another double win in the throwing events with Josh Stephens improving his best in the discus to 148-08 and returning to win the shot put.
