Max May Not Have a Max
Max Manson has been riding a crest of success of late. I'm not sure about Manson's surfing skills, but he seems to do everything else well of late where a mind-body connection is involved.
Manson started the indoor season with a 15-8 indoor PR and a 16-0 overall PR for the pole vault.
It took him five meets to match his overall PR. Since then, he's been hotter than a firecracker. After matching his PR at the National Pole Vault Summit, Manson went 16-1 at the Mines HS Indoor #3.
Following that, there were a couple of meets of close-but-not-quite.
Then, at last week's USATF-Colorado Indoor Championships, Manson got the big breakthrough, going 16-5 for the win.
Evidently, Manson likes vaulting at the Cadet Field House. He was back today with a 16-6, then a 16-9.5. That's better than four inches of new PR in just six days.
Anyone care to guess what the near foreseeable future holds? This clearance moves Manson up a notch to #7 in the nation. It's also the best pole vault mark Colorado has seen in a long time.
