Colorado 3A Region 3: Stargate's Allison Pippert Shines


While the girl's race was seemingly decided with a mile to go, the boy's race was decided in the final meters. 

Jefferson Academy's Evan Mills led much of the race, and held a solid lead heading into the final mile, though Prospect Ridge's Logan Goodman was bidding his time. 

Goodman went to work, erasing the deficit in the final minutes of the race. He brought Jack CerulloLuke BusotMicah Munoz, and Sean Beasley with him. 

The Prospect Ridge junior led a train of six into the final straight, as they were separated by barely five-seconds. 

But Goodman timed this one to perfection, capturing the 3A Region 3 title in 17:14 - the first win of his season.

Cerullo finished second in 17:16, Bust finished third in 17:17, Munoz finished fourth in 17:18, while Beasley finished fifth in 17:19.7 with Jefferson Academy teammate Mills, who finished sixth a tenth-of-a-second back. 

Holy Family and Jefferson Academy put three inside the Top-10, though it was Holy Family that prevailed. They tallied 39 points to claim the 3A Region 3 title. Jefferson Academy was second with 53, which was just two points ahead of Prospect Ridge's 55. Peak to Peak took the fourth and final qualifying spot with 85 points.
