The current boys and girls records are held by Obsa Ali who ran a 15:30.80 at the 2013 Roy Griak and Emily Covert who ran a 17:28.00 at the 2018 Roy Griak. It's not an easy course as shown by the course records, but with the field assembled for the 2022 Roy Griak, it might just be possible.

There are a whopping 14 boys in the field that have a 5K time under 15:30 either in 2021 or 2022. On the surface that seems like 14 boys that have a shot at the record, pretty good odds it seems.
There are 7 girls in the field that have run under 17:28 either this year or last year, and two girls in Abbey Nechanicky and Ali Bainbridge that have averaged under 17:28 in their 5K races this year alone.
