State may seem like a long way away, and all the more so with snow in the forecast for this Saturday, but sometimes thinking ahead toward larger goals helps to put the little frustrations (and potential frustrations) along the way into perspective.
As athletes think about the season ahead, one question that runs through the minds of a lot of individuals is, "What will it take to make it to state?" The answer to that question, of course, varies a great deal by classification. And, while there's no way to project now exactly what it will take to make it to state this year, the first and best indicator is what it took to make it to state last year.
