Pursued by a couple of hungry Bobcats, Luke Yeager ponders the move that would take him safely out of their reach. Photos by Alan Versaw.

Notice has been served. In the great reshuffling of things 3A, Luke Yeager is an ace in the deck.

Last year was not especially kind to the young man who won Liberty Bell as a sophomore. If something could go wrong it did go wrong. Murphy's Law was working ovetime on Luke Yeager.

It would appear now, however, that Luke Yeager has beaten Murphy's Law. And that could be bad news for the rest of 3A.

Through early stages of the race, Holy Family's Erich Hixson gave every indication of having things well under control. And, his experience from last year would have justified that assumption. But all things are not as they were last year. Faith Christian's Luke Yeager went from chase pack to dominant champion faster than you can say, "Wow, it was hot out there today!"

For Hixson, it may have been a case of a little too much too so...
