Johnson & Wales adding track and field

Johnson & Wales University, an NAIA member institution in Denver, will be adding track and field to their athletic offerings in the 2014-15 school year.

While the trend nationally is toward fewer institutions supporting collegiate track and field, the trend locally has gone in the opposite direction. In recent years, Colorado Mesa University added men's track and field/cross country, a move to be followed at CSU-Pueblo in the coming school year.

Now, Johnson and Wales University in Denver plans to add both men's and women's track and field to an existing cross country programs. The Wildcats will be fielding both indoor and outdoor teams.

Expect more information on this development to be published at the Johnson and Wales University athletic website soon.
