The forecast for Saturday at Jeffco Stadium called for mild warmth with a chance for snowpocalypse. With harsh weather threatening, the sun rose and then proceeded to hang behind the clouds the entire day. With no wind, conditions were just about perfect for a Saturday invitational.
In the first big sprint showdown of the day, Lettia Wilson (photo, below, by Ben Hershelman) of Grandview won going away in 12.41. During the Friday night prelims Kossi Tchenawoul of Grandview (10.84), Jaysean Skrine of Fountain-Fort Carson (10.88) and Brandon Singleton of Cherokee Trail (10.91) ran the three fastest 100m in the state to date. The final did not produce the same kind of fireworks, but Skrine notched ten points for the Trojans in 10.88.
