On your list of 3A athletes of interest heading into the state meet (now only three weeks away), make certain that St. Mary's appears somewhere on the list. Delfeld has been having a great season, almost entirely in stealth mode, but he slipped a little and blew his cover on Saturday. Delfeld won one of track and field's toughest doubles on Saturday--claiming titles in both the 400 and 800 at the El Paso County Small Schools Championship meet. 

Delfeld isn't new to success--he finished fourth in the 3A 400 last spring as a sophomore with a time of 50.87, but he is new to success in the 800. In fact, he's new to the 800, period. At this point, Delfeld has only two rankings-eligible 800 meter marks. And, yesterday, though not his better rankings mark, was his first-ever win (rankings meet races only) in the 800 meters.
