
Coal Ridge holds a very strong hand, but things are far from settled among the ranks of 3A. Here's a quick glance at the strongest programs as State draws near.
Probably nobody in the state, at least not in 3A, does relays like Coal Ridge relays. While relays aren't all of what Coal Ridge does, they are the centerpiece of what Coal Ridge does well. Currently, Coal Ridge has the top and second ranked relay time in each of the four boys relays. Provided nobody bungles a baton, that's a lot of state meet points in the bank. And, Coal Ridge figures to score well in individual events as well. The rub here lies in how much the Titans are willing to pull their biggest guns away from relays to compete in individual events.
