The Centennial League Track and Field Championships was contested over two days, Thursday and Saturday. This league, quite possibly the best all-around track and field league in the state, pitted current powerhouse programs against traditional powers. Was this meet likely to generate stiff competition producing spectacular results?
We can mark the answer to that question as an emphatic yes!
The competition began on Thursday under grey, ominous clouds and windy, damp conditions. The decision was made to forge ahead, at least until Mother Nature played her hand. Apparently Mother Nature folded, as there were no delays on the track and nary a delay in the field.
