Dream Mile, Dream 100, NBNO notes

It was a busy Sunday in June for several of Colorado's track and field finest...

At Icahn Stadium in New York, Cerake Geberkidane ran 4:07.54 for ninth in the Boys Dream Mile. Elise Cranny, incidentally pulled out of the Girls Dream Mile several days ago. In the Girls Dream 100, Alleandra Watt and Shayna Yon went 7/8, both recording an official time of 11.82 (+1.7).

Dream 100/Dream Mile Results

A few hundred miles down the East Coast in North Carolina, several Colorado athletes were in action at the final day of New Balance Nationals Outdoor. There, Haley Showalter took a second in the hammer throw at 180-7. Darby Gilfillan and Riley Conney finished 13th and 17th in the mile at 4:57.37 and 5:04.24, respectively. Jordyn Colter and Claire Green pulled down 8th and 18th at 2:08.79 and 2:12.09. Fairview got a 3:53.88 in the 4x400, good enough for 14th. 

Moving over to the boys side of the event list, Palmer Ridge finished 4th in the 4x400 with a 3:16.18, remarkably close to what they ran at state.
