Maybe you've been looking at the calendar and wishing your meet had a logo next to it like other meets--or maybe you just need to update the existing logo for your meet. Here's how you take care of that situation.
Note: This article, and all other articles assume a couple of things. They assume that you have established a username (registered) on the system and that you are logged in. If you haven't done that yet, go ahead and do it now. In addition, many of the functionalities assume that you are a MileSplit Insider. If you are not an Insider already, you can become one here.
This particular how-to doesn't require Insider access, but it does require the user to have a coach or admin account for the host school of the meet.
We're talking here about adding a graphic to your meet page--so that when someone goes to your meet page a graphic for the meet appears in the upper-left corner of the page and where your meet appears on the various MileSplit calendars, that graphic accompanies the listing. It makes your meet stand out a little more and look a little more professional.
The first piece of the puzzle involves you and Photoshop (or whatever image editing program you work with). You want to get your graphic resized to a file that is 120 pixels wide and 90 pixels high. Anything else will be automatically resized when you upload it to your meet page, usually with unfavorable results.
So, whether it's a school logo, a meet logo, or even a photograph, your first step is to resize that image to 120x90. If the dimensions of your image don't work precisely with that ratio, you will need to resize to a slightly smaller image until both the horizontal and the vertical work within the 120 and 90 constraints, then paste that image into a blank 120x90 image.
Once you have that file saved, make sure you are logged in (otherwise the system will not recognize you as a team admin or coach) and go to your meet page.
In the upper-left corner of your meet page, you will see either an existing graphic or a rectangle that has a blue Upload Logo link. Click on either the existing logo or the link and your Upload Meet Logo utility will appear. Simply click on Choose File, find your graphic where you saved it, and select it. Then click on the Upload Logo button to upload your graphic. You may need to refresh your page to see the new graphic. Your meet listing on the calendar may take an hour or so to show the new graphic next to the meet name.
That's it--you're done. And now your meet listing looks a little nicer than it did before!
