We don't quite have all meets from last week reporting, but sometimes the business of writing and publishing must go on nevertheless. We'll talk about meets from which we do have results.

And this week, there's plenty to talk about. A major recurring theme from this week is runners who dropped out of races or, more frequently, fell way back from early paces and/or projected finishes. With temperatures this week that hovered close to 90F for several races, conditions took their toll. While some runners were clearly more impacted by the heat than others, this weekend's heat probably took some measure of toll on all who were racing.
