2013, of course, was the year of the Front Range flooding the week prior to Liberty Bell. In addition to a field that had lost about a third of its competitors, conditions weren't especially good on that Friday afternoon, and we did not see an especially memorable set of performances from that Liberty Bell.
Taking the correlation coefficient for data points of all the 2013 Liberty Bell top 25 who ran at State that year, we get r = .33. But, treating Kaleigh Kroeker and Lina Krueck as outliers and removing them yields a coefficient of correlation of r = .6...
