Colorado Springs, CO - Some of the top names in elite distance coaching will highlight the science-based 2015 ADP American Distance Summit presented by HOKA ONE ONE and to be held in Colorado Springs, Colorado, at the US Olympic Training Center January 10-11, 2015.
Open to coaches and athletes of all abilities, the Summit will feature world reknowned coach Renato Canova, coach of multiple world record holders and multiple world champions, and currently the coach of the Chinese national team. Canova, whose innovative approaches have changed the face of long distance running, is a legendary teacher of coaches providing frank insights into his philosophies and selflessly sharing the actual training programs of his most successful athletes.
Canova will be joined by Dr. Randy Wilber, Senior Sports Physiologist at the US Olympic Training Center, who will share his IAAF presentation on coaching the elite junior athlete, in addition to Nuwanee Kirihennedige and Alba Reguant, international dieticians studying under USOC National Team Sports Nutritionist Dr. Nanna Meyer, who will present cutting-edge research on sports diets.
Physical therapy industry leader Fred Stoot will also present, along with coach Peter Thompson, who is the IAAF’s Global Leader for distance running coaching, and coach Jay Johnson, former assistant coach at the University of Colorado where he contributed to three NCAA national cross country team titles.
The Summit is organized by American Distance Project coach Scott Simmons with all proceeds benefiting the non-profit dedicated to the development of American distance runners.
