Some introductions were made by members of the Class of 2018 over the last few days.
Our introduction to this year's freshman class is by no means complete. In fact, look for a major article on that topic about this time next week.
But, it's still not too early to take note of some early strong performances out of this year's freshman class--girls who made their presence known on opening weekend. Here's a quick glimpse at a few of them...
Maya Evans, Vista Peak - Maya Evans became a household name around these parts long before the CHSAA-sanctioned season started, but she also wasted no time jumping (way) to the front of the freshman class in the 100 and long jump rankings. If you're thinking her place in these rankings just might stick, you could be right about that.
Sophia Visger, Berthoud - Berthoud has had some nice speed in the past. It would appear Visger stands in that tradition, opening with a 28.46 for the 200 on Saturday. Not too surprisingly, she also dabbles in the jumps.
