BROOMFIELD - The 2015 Broomfield Shootout could have also been called the Broomfield “Sprintout." Both the boys and girls 100s saw the state's fastest times amid loaded heats.

In the boys race, home-track favorite Jordan Xiong posted a lifetime best and meet record of 10.68 ahead of Lutheran's Kent Harris, 10.89, and Chris Youngs, 10.95. Thompson Valley's Andrew Bradberry, who was in the hunt for second, pulled up with 30 meters remaining. Xiong is returning from a knee injury in football and looks to have recovered just fine.

Cherokee Trail's Shayna Yon had not entered a 100 on Colorado soil, but she announced her 2015 season with a dominating performance in the girl's race. Yon (11.78) pulled away from a field that included Moffat County's Kayla Pinnt (12.22) and George Washington's Alexis Groce (12.32) in 11.78.
