Eric Hamer will be representing Palmer Ridge and Colorado in the Invitational 3200 at Arcadia on Saturday evening. Colorado Track XC file photo by Alan Versaw.
In the last three months, Eric Hamer's racing itinerary has included stops in Boulder, Colombia, Pueblo, Gunnison, Golden, Grand Junction, and China. So why not California, too? Who knows what other stops lie on this tour?
Expect Hamer to learn a little something about traffic in his race. Accustomed to running mostly alone here in Colorado, he steps to the Arcadia start line with 32 other competitors of roughly the same speed.
But, Hamer will not be alone representing Colorado at Arcadia. He will not even be alone representing Colorado in the invitational events.
Also stepping to the line in invitational events at the most storied high school meet in the western United States will be Katie Rainsberger and Lauren Gregory (who have been racing each other a lot lately, just not much in Colorado) in the mile, Jordyn Colter also in the mile and 800, Audra Koopman in the 100 and long jump, and Caleb Ojennes in the 400.
Notching entries in seeded races are Becca Schulte and Logan Malone in the 400, just not the same Seeded 400, and Cherry Creek's girls in the 4x800
I'm guessing we may have received a quick little preview of the Palmer Ridge Arcadia singlets at the Palmer Invitational late in the day on Saturday.
Also making the trip to California from Colorado are Kayla Wiitala, Emma Dern, Jordan Burton, McKenna Ramsay, Lillian Markusch, Katie Plomondon, Anne Raymond, Lisa Swartz, and Nico Forcatto.
We will be posting results and updates here on the MileSplit network and on Colorado Track XC as they become available.
