Track action started early in Colorado Springs on Saturday with 1A, 2A, and 3A programs converging on St. Mary's High School's home facility the Grace Center. An 8 AM meet start was necessitated by a soccer game to be accommodated in the afternoon.

In the first event of the day, James Irwin's SMR8 would beat the field by nearly five seconds, but it was the fourth and fifth SMR8 teams, Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs Christian, that would be dueling for the meet title.

Manitou Springs continues to find a well of points from the sprint relays, hurdles, and jumps with throws and distance contributing support. Saturday was no different as the Mustangs bolted to wins in the 4x100m and the 4x200m. The 51.82 and 1:49.94 performances are season bests for Manitou Springs.
