GRAND JUNCTION: Points, points points -- that was the focus this weekend for the top teams at the Western Slope Multi-Leagues meet.

It remains to be seen if the first-year strategy works, but the Western Slope track powers-that-be decided to move league meets one week earlier this year. The theory is that coaches can load up their athletes for points and an illustrious league title without the worry of taxing them one week before the big show in Denver.

The efforts led to some exciting team competitions down the stretch but don't be fooled, there were multiple top individual performances as well.

4A Western Slope League

Let's lead off with the best team race of the meet -- the girls' 4A royal rumble. This is a league race that has typically come down to Eagle Valley (last year's champ that was decided during the 4x...
